Rei Ozora (大空 レイ) is a recurring character in Shinkalion. He first appears in Episode 21 of Season 1 and Episode 33 of Season 2. He is voiced by Eriko Matsui.

Although he is significantly younger than his peers, Rei is much more intelligent than most of the other drivers, having assisted in the design and construction of his own unit, the 800. Despite this, however, he retains the eagerness and naivety of most other kids of his age, having had no concept of fear until his own reckless action put him into a grave danger during the Second Underground World Strategy. He is always eager to please, and having researched the senior drivers from Ōmiya prior to meeting them, he was quick to idolize the trio based on their experience, even to the point of referring to them as his masters.
Although he matured greatly after being transferred to the Sakurajima Testline, Rei still holds onto his excitement over his original idols; he was quick to revert to his original eager self upon hearing that Hayato was returning to Japan.
