Maetel Tsukino (月野 メーテル) is an ally in Shinkansen Henkei Robo Shinkalion Z. She first appears in Episode 20. She is voiced by Satsuki Yukino.

Personality[]
Maetel is normally quiet and shy, having started out at being poor with communication. Despite this, she is very aware of her surroundings, due to the fact that she habitually listens to various radio frequencies on a daily basis. Her shyness and poor communication skills are best shown during her first interactions with commander Sōya Ōnuma; nervously peeking around the corner of the command room's door, she quickly ducks behind the doorframe when he greeted, and eventually resorted to meekly talking to him through her Z Gear from a distance. She also blushed when directly addressed by the staff, but quickly grew used to it.
Under her shy exterior, Maetel is very empathetic, and she is quick to sympathize with anyone in need, even seemingly-inanimate objects such as Valdor. She also has a loose fascination in railways, as shown in her high anticipation towards the Hokkaido Shinkansen Line expansion reaching her hometown. This later inspired her interest in the Shinkalions which eventually resulted in her current position as a driver.

- The character originates from the character of the same name in the Galaxy Express 999 franchise.

- She bares many similarities with her predecessor Miku Hatsune:
- Both start as part of collaborations with other franchises and stay up as permanent support characters of the series.
- Both affiliate to Shinkansen Ultra Evolution Institute Hokkaido Command Office Hokkaido Branch as the driver of an H5-based unit and are the sole female drivers of their respective generations.
