Shinkalion E6 Komachi (シンカリオン E6こまち) is the second Shinkalion of the Shinkansen Ultra Evolution Institute, piloted by Akita Oga replacing one of The Adult Drivers. It first appears in Episode 01.

Description[]

History[]

During the first of the Giant Monstrous Being outbreaks, the E6 was piloted by an adult driver, and was one of the primary Shinkalion units utilized, as the E5 was unable to be used by the adult drivers. After the E5 went into usage being driven by Hayato Hayasugi at the controls, the E6 was the first Shinkalion to have its driver located by the simulator app, with the resulting candidate, Akita Oga, taking his place as the E6's driver until the battle against the Valhallan. Following this, the E6 was retired permanently.

Weaponry and Abilities[]

The E6 has access to the Railway Crossing Guns, twin rifles based on crossing barriers of a modern railway crossing. The E6 has a set of wheels built into its feet, letting it speed across the battlefield while its legs are reserved for jumping. Due to Akita's background of riflery, the E6 excels in ranged combat and is excellent in sniping, which is more accurate with the help of the Namahage Goggles. The Railway Crossing Guns also have a cannon mode, which mount on the E6's shoulders in this form.

Appearance[]

Shinkansen Mode[]

The overall styling of the E6 Series Shinkansen is intended to evoke images of the Namahage demons and kantō festival lanterns for which Akita Prefecture is famous. The main body color is "Hiun" (飛雲) white, with madder color covering the upper nose and roof section, and has "arrow silver" stripes throughout the side.

Shinkalion Mode[]

The E6, when transformed, becomes a humanoid mech, which still keeps its chest the same as the nose of its shinkansen mode. The legs are mainly colored in white while its arms shares the E6's signature madder red color. The E6's feet features a design inspired by traditional Japanese sandals, and have wheels on the sides for high mobility. The E6 also features a more aggressive-appearing head design inspired by the Namahage demons, with twin horn-like protrusions on the top akin to the demon's horns, as well as a yellow crest. The forehead also features the green lenses of the Namahage Goggles mounted on a moveable panel, which moves down to cover the unit's eyes when activated, evocative of the demon's large eyeballs.

Trivia[]

  • As the Railway Crossing Guns did not manifest until E6 landed on the field in its debut episode, the E6 did not wield any weapons during the transformation sequence in the episode. The guns were later added to the sequence in the following episode as a permanent alteration.
